Professor of Respiratory Medicine.Prof. Dr. Iqbal Hassan Mahmood is a distinguished Professor of Respiratory Medicine and a renowned chest and asthma specialist in Bangladesh. He holds MBBS and DTCD qualifications, along with a PhD (USA), and prestigious fellowships including FRCP (Ireland, Edinburgh, London), FRSH, and FCCP (USA). With decades of clinical and academic experience, he has made significant contributions to respiratory healthcare and medical education. He is also a Member of the Hamdard Board of Trustees.

Work experience
Prof. Dr. Iqbal Hassan Mahmood serves as Professor and Head of the Chest Diseases Department at Shomorita Hospital & Medical Center, Dhaka. In this role, he leads clinical services, oversees patient care, and provides academic guidance to medical professionals and trainees in the field of respiratory medicine.
He is also associated with the Iqbal Chest Center in Maghbazar, Dhaka, where he provides specialized care for patients suffering from asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other respiratory conditions. Alongside his clinical responsibilities, he contributes to strategic and governance initiatives as a Member of the Hamdard Board of Trustees.
